Cheddar Cheese Bread
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
1 large egg
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and black pepper.
Add the melted unsalted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, ensuring it's evenly distributed in the mixture.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, plain Greek yogurt (or sour cream), and egg until well combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently fold and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter may be slightly lumpy.
Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes.
Carefully transfer the bread from the pan to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
