Fried Chicken

homemade Fried Chicken! 🍗🍋🌱

Preparation Time: 1 hour
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients:
🍗 1 whole chicken (about 1.5 kg), cut into pieces
🧂 2 teaspoons salt
🌿 1 teaspoon black pepper
🥛 1 cup buttermilk
🥚 2 large eggs
🍚 1 cup all-purpose flour
🌾 1 cup breadcrumbs
🍋 1 lemon, sliced (for garnish)
🌱 Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
🍯 Honey (optional, for drizzling)
Directions:
Preparation: Pat dry the chicken pieces with paper towels. Season them evenly with salt and black pepper.

Marinate: In a large bowl, mix buttermilk and eggs. Add the seasoned chicken pieces to the bowl, ensuring they are fully submerged. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for maximum flavor).

Breading: In a shallow dish, combine flour and breadcrumbs. Remove the chicken pieces from the buttermilk mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, coating evenly on all sides. Shake off any excess flour.

Frying: Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the breaded chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 8-10 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Drain: Once cooked, transfer the fried chicken to a wire rack or paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Serve: Garnish the fried chicken with lemon slices and chopped parsley. Optionally, drizzle with honey for added sweetness.

Enjoy: Serve the crispy fried chicken hot and enjoy with your favorite sides!

Enjoy your delicious homemade Fried Chicken! 🍗🍋🌱
