Water Pie
When times are rough a little cheap treat is an emotional booster.
Sometimes called nothing pie.
Water pie
1 unbaked pie crust
1½ cups water
¾ cup sugar
¼ cup flour
3 Tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
Pour the water into an unbaked pie crust then mix the sugar and flour together and sprinkle it over the water do not stir. Float butter pats on top of the water and add the vanilla. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes then reduce heat to 375 and bake for another 30 min. Let cool a bit and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Sometimes I add pecans or walnuts it is like a pecan pie.
