π Ingredients:
For the Chicken Chow Mein:
π 1 lb chicken breast, boneless, skinless
π₯ 1 large carrot, julienned
π₯¬ 2 cups cabbage, shredded
π± 1/2 batch green onions, chopped
π 12 oz chow mein noodles (uncooked noodles)
π§ 2 garlic cloves, minced
π’️ 3 tbsp oil
For the Chow Mein Sauce:
π₯ 6 tbsp oyster sauce
πΆ 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
π₯ 3 tbsp light sesame oil (not toasted)
π² 1/2 cup chicken broth
π 1 tbsp cornstarch
π― 1 tbsp granulated sugar
πInstructions:
1️⃣ In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the oyster sauce, granulated sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch. Set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the noodles according to package instructions, then drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
3️⃣ Heat a large wok or pan with olive oil over medium heat. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized strips and cook until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
4️⃣ In the same pan, add carrots, cabbage, and pressed garlic. SautΓ© for a few minutes until veggies are slightly softened.
5️⃣ Add the chicken and noodles back to the pan. Pour the sauce over the top and continue cooking for another 2 minutes, stirring well.
6️⃣ Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot!
Notes π‘:
For a vegetarian version, replace chicken with tofu and use vegetable broth.
Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers, snap peas, or mushrooms for extra nutrition and flavor.
If you prefer a spicier dish, add a dash of chili flakes or hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
