Yeast Flatbread
Update on the flatbread recipe! I am changing some the methods I ended up putting out the rounds, I liked that better! I had to lower the heat to medium. I would lower the sugar some next time. Butt they are very very delicious! The texture is just perfect! It yeilded 13 rounds.
After browsing tons of bread recipes! (Yes the craving is strong) I have combined everything I read. I have flatbread resting! Jotting it down here so I don't forget!
5 cups all purpose flour (big batch)
2 TBS Italian herbs (optional)
4 tsp rapid yeast
2 tsp fine sea salt
2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 cup warm water
1/2 olive oil
1 cup Greek yogurt
Combine water, yeast and sugar in small bowl, set aside to let it bloom. (No bubbles dead yeast)
In a large mixing bowl combine flour, dry herbs and salt mix. Add yeast water, olive oil, Greek yogurt and knead 5 minutes. Let rest 30 minutes covered. Form into balls, cover, roll out to rounds. Grill over medium heat, until brown or bubbly and flip. Brush each one with olive oil and cover while cooking the rest.
