Washboard cookies

Can't stop baking these.  The kind that vanish off the rack before they ever cool.    Soft and buttery, with just a little crisp around the edges.  Fork-pressed, simple, and made without thinking too hard.    Washboard Cookies    🍪 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝟮𝟰 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗲𝘀:  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet.  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in vanilla.  3. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt.  4. Add dry ingredients to butter, alternating with milk, until soft dough forms.  5. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on sheet and press with a fork.  6. Bake 12–15 minutes until lightly golden. Cool, then transfer to a rack.
