MOM'S CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (My favorite)
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Mix together 1 c. oil, 1 c. sour cream, 2 c. brown sugar, 1 c. white sugar, and 3 t. vanilla. Beat and add 4 eggs. Add 5 1/2 c. flour, 2 t. soda, and 1 t. salt; mix together. Stir in 12 oz. chocolate chips. Bake for approximately 10 min. Makes 6 dozen.
MOM'S ORIGINAL TOLL HOUSE COOKIES
Preheat the oven to 375 F. Cream 1 c. softened butter, 3/4 c. sugar, 3/4 c. brown sugar, 1 t. vanilla, and 1/2 t. water. Add 2 eggs. Add 2 1/4 c. flour, 1 t. baking soda, and 1 t. salt. Stir in 1-12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips and 1 c. chopped nuts. Drop by spoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
MOM'S OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Cream 1 c. white sugar, 1/2 c. brown sugar, and 1 c. shortening. Add 2 eggs and 1 t. vanilla. Sift together 1 1/3 c. flour, 1 t. soda. and 1/2 t. salt. Blend in 2 c. oatmeal and 1 c. chocolate chips. Drop on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
MOM'S OATMEAL COCONUT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (Berthold Community Cookbook 1979)
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Cream together 1 c. white sugar, 1 c. brown sugar, and 1 c. shortening. Add 3 eggs and beat; then add 1/2 c. milk and 1 t. vanilla. Sift in 3 c. flour, 2 t. soda, and 1/2 t. salt. Blend in 2 c. oatmeal, 1 c. coconut, and 1 pkg chocolate chips. Drop on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
AUNT HAZEL'S CHOCOLATE CHIP HONEY COOKIES
Cream 1/3 c. Crisco. Add 1/2 c. honey gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add 1 well-beaten egg and mix thoroughly. Sift flour once, measure out 1 1/4 c., add 1/2 t. salt and 1/2 t. soda, and sift again. Add flour in two parts to the creamed mixture and mix well. Add 1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 t. vanilla and mix thoroughly. Drop from a teaspoon on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a moderate oven 375 degrees 10-12 min. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
AUNT HAZEL'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (Tried Recipes Grafton Lutheran Ladies Aid 1955)
Preheat the oven to 375 F. Cream 1 c. butter or shortening, 1/2 c. white sugar, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 t. vanilla, 1/4 t. salt, and 1 t. cream of tartar; add 1 beaten egg, beat until fluffy. Sift 2 1/4 c. flour and 1 t. soda together and add to the creamed mixture. Stir in 1 pkg. chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls and flatten with a fork. Bake for 10-12 min. Dates may be used instead of chips.
JILL'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Preheat the oven to 375 F. Cream 1 c. shortening, 1 c. packed brown sugar, 1/2 c. white sugar, and 1 t. vanilla until light and fluffy. Add 2 eggs and beat well. Combine 2 c. flour, 1 t. baking powder, and 1 t. salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in 1 c. chopped nuts and 2 c. chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from the cookie sheet.
LINDA'S FAMOUS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Preheat the oven to 375 F. Mix 2 1/4 c. flour with 1 t. soda. Combine 1 c. margarine, 1/4 c. sugar, 3/4 c. brown sugar, 1 t. vanilla, and 1-3 oz. pkg. vanilla instant pudding mix. Beat until smooth. Beat in 2 eggs. Gradually add in flour. Fold in 1 c. chopped nuts and 6 oz. chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls on a cookie sheet. Bake until lightly brown, Do not overbake. Note: You can also make as pan bars.
LINDA'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Cream 1/2 c. margarine, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. brown sugar, and 1/2 c. white sugar. Add 2 beaten eggs. Add 2 1/2 c. flour (might need a little more), 1 t. salt, and 1 t. soda; mix well. Add 1-6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips. Make little balls. Place on cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 min.
SUSIE'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Preheat the oven to 325 F. Cream 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, and 1/2 c. brown sugar. Add 2 beaten eggs, 1/8 c. water, and 1/2 t. vanilla. Beat well. Add 2 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 t. salt, and 1 t. soda. Add 1-12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips. Drop on cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 min.
SUSIE'S OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Cream 1 c. shortening, add 3/4 c. brown sugar and 3/4 c. white sugar, add 2 eggs separately, beating after each addition. Add 1 t. hot water to creamed mixture, then add sifted 1 3/4 c. flour, 1 t. soda, and 1 t. Salt. Add 1 c. nut meats, 1-6 oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate chips, and 2 c. oatmeal. Mix, and add 1 t. Vanilla. Drop by 12 t. Bake at 375 F. for 8 minutes. Freeze to keep soft.
